My Kick Start to Losing the First Twenty Pounds.

Jillian's 30 day Shred and Eating Clean

I really love Jillian's 30 Day Shred. The DVD says 20 pounds in 30 days. Not only did I lose twenty pounds I was getting toned. I had never been toned before. Even is my skinny days. My arms and shoulders had never looked better. Out of the 30 days I only missed 4 days.

Eating Clean was also a big help. I'm not fully on board with eating clean (at least not yet), but I'm definitely eating cleaner and the changes I have made have done wonders.

Look Fabulous in Photos

One of the things I hated more then anything were photos of myself. But then I realized If I had been more open to the picture being taken of myself maybe I would have seen it sooner. Maybe the last ten years wouldn't have been lost. I'm not going to harp on the past but I'm not going to let the past be repeated. My forties are going to be documented with photos and lots of them.

Look Fabulous in Photos

I've done some research and I have found several great tips and tricks to looking FABULOUS in photos. I've tested them out and was really surprised how much they helped. You’ll never say “I look horrible in pictures” again.

1. Straighten you neck, relax your shoulders, and then push you chin out and slightly downward. Place the tip of your tongue behind you top front teeth as you smile to relax facial muscles.

2. Smile back, not up. This will help avoid the wrinkles around your eyes. Try it you'll see what I'm talking about.

3. Show your top teeth only. I don't think I've ever seen a flattering picture with both the top and the bottom teeth are showing.

4. Relax and DO NOT say "Cheese". See tip number 3.

5. When in a seated group. DO NOT lean in towards others, sit up straight.

6. Always look slightly above the lens of the camera.

7. Position your body 45 degrees from the camera. Turn your head towards the lens. Cross one foot in front of the other and put all your weight on your back leg. Place your arms either on your hips and/or away from your body with your hands facing down. This pose is very slimming.

8. If you're holding a drink, put it down.

9. Smile with your eyes.

10. Relax your face and body right before the shot by breathing out.

Pay Attention!

Fender Benders happen when you're not paying attention.
Checks bounce when you're not paying attention.
You're kids grow up when you're not paying attention.
You loose ten years of your life when you're not paying attention.

Pay attention, things get missed when you don't.

Start your day on a positive note.

"Positive thinking is a wonderful thing. Having a Positive Attitude is a Fabulous thing".

I wanted to see if I used the power of positive thinking everyday for two weeks, how would my days go? I would start my days saying out loud as well as to myself with the affirmation "Today is going to be a fabulous day and everything is going to go my way" I would repeat it over and over from five to sometimes twenty times.

For those two weeks I would have to say my days were pretty fabulous. I felt great, my days went smooth and it everything did go my way. Even though I didn't want to stop my new found fabulous attitude, I had to finish my experiment. So I stopped.

Right away things started going wrong. On the way to my daughter's school, we ran into traffic which caused her to be late to school. This then caused me to be late to my meeting. I do not like being late. Oh how I wanted to blurt out the words "today is going to be a fabulous day and everything is going to go my way!" But I bit my tongue literally and it hurt. The rest of the day didn't get any better. That night I told my self this experience is over.

The next day I started my day with my favorite new affirmation. I've been saying it everyday ever since. I now even say midday "I'm having a fabulous day"!

I still start my day with positive affirmations. The one I say now is "Today is going to be a Fabulous Day. I have a Fabulous Life. I am Fabulous!".

This blog was created to journal my love of learning and the need and want to continue to grow into the best person I can be.

I've structured Blog To Fabulous around these five key areas. I'm really excited to share this with you and hope to hear your stories. This is your blog to fabulous as much as mine.






From Frumpy to Fabulous!

It Just Hit Me!

I was looking in the mirror and I just didn't recognize the person looking back. I had so many feelings and emotions running through my mind. I couldn't even explain them all.

How did this happen? When did this happen? I just lost the last ten years of my life. I spent my thirties in a fog. Well that was about to change. This blog is my journey from frumpy to fabulous.

Note: I'm updating all of Oct. 2008 to explain better the purpose of this blog as well as my site which was inspired by my story. As you can see I started the blog over a year ago. I was more focused on the website that I neglected the blog. But now that I have the site just the way I want it and it is running smoothly I can now focus on the blog as well.
